We met in the most unexpected of places – a local Dungeons & Dragons shop. Carolyn was playing a druid named Lena, and I was playing a bard named Timon. Somewhere between dice rolls and character backstories, Dustin found himself completely captivated by her.
She, however, had no idea he liked her. For weeks, he tried to drop hints, but subtlety clearly wasn’t my strong suit. Eventually, I worked up the courage to butt into a conversation she was having about an upcoming movie and asked her out. Even then, she still didn’t realize it was a date — not until I finally kissed her.
From that moment on, everything just fit. What started as two adventurers sharing a game became a lifelong campaign together.
